Recently my Nvidia graphics card (GTX 1050 Ti) failed, and I found an AMD Radeon card (RX 590) in my spare parts, which worked for me and even seems to be working well. So I'm wondering which is better for use with CIN? AMD or Nvidia? (I read that for certain uses, CUDA with Nvidia is very efficient).

AMD Radeon graphics card is a good competitor to Nvidia. I use a Radeon RX580 4GB on my laptop, which is a "gaming designed laptop", mostly only with CinelerraGG and it works well for me.
The jury is still out on CUDA with CinGG using Nvidia. 2019 was the last time any testing was done on using CUDA and as stated in the manual, it was helpful when using plugins for "a flock of birds" or possibly weather wind patterns. It needs to be thoroughly tested with Cinelerra again with the latest version of graphics hardware and software.
Thank you very much. That's also my experience with the AMD card I've been using for a week. Rendering is just as fast, maybe even faster, but I'm not entirely sure of the exact values I had before. The quality is just as good, in any case. I'm using the VAAPI setting in the configuration. I'm going to keep this card because it also works very well with OpenToonz, which I use alongside Cin.
@chapolin In CinGG, there isn't much difference between Nvidia and AMD. In general, in the field of graphics and editing, Nvidia is preferable and, thanks to CUDA, has more support in various software programs. There is a website that sells hardware and continuously performs benchmarks. Even though it uses professional software and tests professional (very expensive) cards, it still manages to give an idea of the difference between Nvidia and AMD in the professional field:
