Hello,

I have two questions: When I copy / paste a portion of video to the timeline, the following portions of videos are moved, is it possible that everything is fixed? On the other hand when we paste how to choose the place?

Thank for your help, best regards

1) The easiest way for me is as follows.  This works in both cut & paste or drag & drop editing mode.

If you position your mouse on the timeline and press the middle mouse button, you see variations of copy/paste that will allow you to paste without moving the rest of the video. If you do not have a 3-button mouse the options all have shortcuts to use instead and they are documented at:

https://cinelerra-gg.org/download/CinelerraGG_Manual/Copy_Paste_Behavior.html

2) Move the insert pointer to the place where you want to paste that portion.  In Drag and Drop editing mode, you just drop it where you want it.

If you need further details, just reply.

Thank you very much for your help, the middle button is really handy and the videos stick well where I put them. But a problem persists, indeed when I paste a portion of video, the portions which are placed after on the timeline move as much. Is it possible to fix a video at a specific point on the timeline?

When you paste, you have to make sure you have enough room to put that piece there and that is why the rest of it moves by default.  Assuming you are in Cut and Paste editing mode and you do have a blank spot on the timeline that the video piece you want to paste in that spot will actually fit, you can use the middle mouse button "overwrite" option.

If using Drag and Drop editing mode, if you drag a piece of video, there are color outline hints to let you know if the place where you want to drop it (paste) will allow it to fit.  If it fits, the video will move there and not move any of the video past that spot; but if it does not fit, the subsequent video will move too.

There are probably better ways that other people use.  If this is unclear, let me know.
