I just did a search for reviews using several different search engines, but can find little about Cin on the net and what there is is not usually very complimentary. I don't understand why.

I did find a very nice set of tutorials for another Linux-compatible NLE by Seth Kenlon of Red Hat which concludes thus:

This just made me mad and I posted a comment there about what an insult it was to software programmers everywhere (most of who probably worked for free). But at least they tried Cinelerra and I expect it was the original HV version.

I agree with you. It is difficult to get out of one's "bias" to explore other things.

@andreapaz It amazes me how little information these people get before they publish. But then it's Linux and free to use, so it can't possibly be any good, as we here all know! 😉

An interesting list of 'drop-in replacements' of the major Adobe/Autodesk programs used in the graphics world. Most are for Windows/Mac, but there are also versions for Linux. Cinelerra is also mentioned:
