set fixed keyframe values for whole clip

For some effects (e.g. the Color 3 Way) I want a fixed value for a whole clip.

Another value for the whole following clip.

At the moment my actual workflow is that I'm inserting a keyframe at the first frame and one at the last frame for each clip.

Because I don't know how to copy values from the plugin keyframes I have to set all values manually which is really exhausting.

edit: probably I will use spanning more often from now on.

When you want to have a change controlled by keyframes within one clip the standard approach is usable.

For my case I want to avoid that values are linear changing within a clip.

Let's say you want one clip b/w and a second one in colour. Basically when you set a keyframe at each clip, the first clip will begin at b/w and end in colour.

Is it possible to disable this behaviour internally within one clip? I'm not sure whether "keyword spanning" is the best approach for that.

I wanted to avoid to have a huge effects stack and created only one effect (e.g. for Color 3 Way) for the whole length of the movie.

With spanning you don't choose keyframes anymore but the whole clip right?
