My name ist Bodo and I am working for a NGO in Frankfurt (Germany). I want to be able to edit videos with open source software as well as showing others how to do it. Davinci Resolve seams to be very demanding regarding hardware and it looks like you need a workstation with CentOS. I am currently running Ubuntu 18.04 and I am using a Lenovo x240 Laptop (at the workplace and at home with a big screen).

Thanks for contributing and giving Cinelerra to the community!

Welcome to our community Bodo.

I am glad that you like Cinelerra. DaVinci Resolve is a very powerful video editing software, I work with it from time to time. However, DaVinci Resolve requires an extremely powerful computer to run smoothly. I can't work on my laptop for this reason, although my laptop is relatively strong. Cinelerra is very resource-saving and well suited for working on a laptop.

Have fun.

Cheers
Sam

Welcome from me, too.
If you like, you can indicate the things you like in DaVinci Resolve, so that you can see if they can also be introduced in CinGG.

Thanks for welcoming me.

Actually I stopped trying to get Davinci Resolve installed, because I haven't got a machine strong enough. Now I have Cinelerra installed and running, I am very happy about that and I can start editing.
