In addition to Open Source, sometimes Open Hardware also appears.

Very interesting information Andrea. I like this concept very much, but the price is extremely high. For the price I get three Black Magic Design Pocket 4 K cameras. If the price should still go down, then it would surely be an alternative. The technical specifications of the image sensor are really good. 300 fps at 10Bit is already impressive. Whereby they write themselves that the other components cannot process this high data throughput at all. At 300 fps and 4K you produce a lot of data. Only makes sense with slow motion recordings.
Thanks for sharing the info.
You are right. They seem to point to the big Studios; but that's STD territory, proprietary codecs and certifications. It will be difficult to make your way. IMO if they competed with the averages cameras of Canon, Sony and Panasonic could outperform them.
I am also using Open Hardware. Although it is quite expensive, It works very well.
@tuxcaught
My compliments. Does it completely replace a regular cam?
