please excuse me if somebody asked this before or if this is the wrong place to ask this question. I have been searching this forum and haven't found this problem. This area seemed the only place suitible to post this.
Trying to install Cinelerra on Ubuntu 18.04 like described on https://www.cinelerra-gg.org/ubuntu-package/ , apt-add-repository is reporting an 404-error:
https://cinelerra-gg.org/download/pkgs/ub18 bionic Release
404 Not Found [IP: 94.16.115.56 443]
Has somebody seen this problem before?

Thank you for reporting the error. No problem, you can also post such requests in the forum. The developers will take a look at the problem. Unfortunately I don't use Ubuntu and therefore I can't reproduce the bug. You will get feedback from us.
If you are in a hurry, you can also use the single user builds. You can find them here:

If repository problems, usually you can manually do an install by using:
wget https://www.cinelerra-gg.org/download/pkgs/ub18/cin_5.1.ub18.04-20190331_amd64.deb
and install it manually, for example: dpkg -i cin_5.1.{substitute_filename}.deb
We will test it here to make sure it is working, but most likely it is and the install instructions are not as intelligible as they should be.
Thank you for the quick answers. Meanwhile I have downloaded https://cinelerra-gg.org/download/pkgs/ub18/cin_5.1.ub18.04-20190331_amd64.deb and installed it via the GUI-Software management. So I will get no updates but I have an installation I can work with.
Easy fix for next month!! Just edit the file /etc/apt/sources.list to make sure the added line contains [trusted=yes] as shown below:
deb [trusted=yes] https://cinelerra-gg.org/download/pkgs/ub18 bionic main
We tested it here using the provided instructions and they are correct, but most likely some users are just used to using the standard package method and not the "unsigned" package method.
Before adding [trusted=yes] you will get the same as we did of:
Err:6 https://cinelerra-gg.org/download/pkgs/ub18 bionic Release
404 Not Found [IP: 94.16.115.56 443]
The Not Found file is the Release file which is for signed packages.
Help appreciated from anyone out there who can provide a better way to create package builds for ubuntu that alleviate this problem without us having to create signed packages if possible. The developer who set this up is a programmer and not familiar with the ins and outs of packages and ubuntu. He uses dpkg-scanpackages to build the package (from dpkg-dev install) and that does not generate a Release file, thus producing the 404 Not Found error.
