Hello Jin,

I couldn't answer directly to your post "How to create a gap in a clip by splitting and trimming" because the button of your post "Add a comment" doesn't work for me.
So I'll answer you here.

I just made a little video that shows you how to do it.
I hope it answers your question.
Have a nice weekend.

Forum problem of different language SOLUTION that I have found.  When you can not answer or comment to a forum post, this has been known to work for me:

1) logout

2) change the selected language on the top black colored line to "English" (even if it already is)

3) login again

Hi @fary54,

weird, that responding did not work in the original thread, anyway, thank you for the answer, but I guess I did not explain my motivation correctly. The point is to avoid dragging, because then you mess with the position of the video in the timeline, I would like to create the gap without moving the clips around, so that I do not lose the synchronization of the first and the second half of the clip in relation to another track; I know I could move the second clip around to get back in sync, but I would like to avoid that as its not always easy to do and is time consuming.

As you can see in my screencast, I was only trimming the edges, but I did not move the second clip anywhere. Is this possible in Cinelerra?

Kind regards,

Jin
