I can multi-select clips on the timeline and then by dragging one, all the clips I have selected will follow. But if I want to select all the clips on the timeline for dragging along the timeline, is there a shortcut to do do this? All I have been able to find is that I can select all with the the I-beam cursor and the "a" key, but this is to perform some action, it does not allow me to drag the selected clips on the timeline.

I have been trying to find a way but there does not seem to be a shortcut.  What I would do instead of trying to move all of them over by selecting each one individually, is to insert a silent spot before the clips which results in them all moving over.  You can do this by holding down the shift key and the space bar to "paste silence".  If you do not want other tracks to move, you will have to temporarily disarm them first.

Thank you for your answer. Using Shift + Spacebar advances items forward of the current time marker by 1 frame per instance of the keyboard combination. With the I-beam tool selected larger shifts can be made by drawing out a white selection (even across other items on the timeline) and then using Shift + Spacebar moves items forward in time by the amount of the selection (items that were included in the selection are not "cut" by being inside the selection area).

If you select the first clip you want to move by double clicking it, then Shift + Spacebar, it will enter a silence the same length as the highlighted clip, moving all subsequent clips by the same amount. It's then simple to move the clips as far as you want by pushing or dragging the back edge of the silence. As Phyllis says "If you do not want other tracks to move, you will have to temporarily disarm them first."
