The convenience of using AppImage makes running Cinelerra-GG easy to get started on just about any Linux operating system. This includes at least:
- Ubuntu from version 16 to current
Debian 64 bit versions Buster/Bullseye + 32-bit version 9 to current
Leap and Suse variations
Mint versions up to current
Fedora version 29 to current to include Red Hat Enterprise 8
Arch and Arch variations such as Manjaro
But that is not all. Successful builds have been done on the following:
- BSD / FreeBSD / NetBSD
Slackware and Gentoo
Android device with Termux currently without Audio
PPC
It build natively on Arch without problem so far also https://aur.archlinux.org/packages?O=0&SeB=nd&K=cinelerra-gg&outdated=&SB=l&SO=d&PP=50&submit=Go
Thank you Fabio for your comment — good to have validation !
It certainly works well enough on Manjaro, both KDE and Xfce. I also had it working for 3 months on MX Linux KDE.
Also, thanks DeJay — there were changes to the Makefiles this month and recently so it is always good to hear that the builds are still working on different distros since we do not test them. all.
