Summary | 0000460: PNG image in Proxy Edit seems to be rescaled twice
Description | When a PNG image in proxy edit is used, the image in the compositor looks twice the size as the proxy size. Hence the contents falls outside of the camera.
Steps To Reproduce | Add media, apply to the timeline, use proxy editing (I am using JPEG Sequence).

As IgorBeg tracked, this is BT 0000073 which should be looked at soon as it has been around awhile (hope we can get to it).
@skinkie If you have a few of time you can see some video tutorials to Cin-gg youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCW97mOMN_tAqVCn8k4Euf1w/ ( or, if you prefer, on my personal link http://www.visi1.org/cinelerra-gg_tutorials.html ) PS: I am a Reporter not a Administrator/Manager. |

@igorbeg this is the problem I have for myself with an issue tracker for a project that I don't know in depth. Some stuff is obviously suggested before. Thanks for referencing it! Can you close the ticket, or merge it with 73?
@skinkie I saw your screencast. It is not a bug. By the last post I think you understood how to use Proxy. "I would suggest ^^^ to be transparent to the user, because I expect this to be the culprit." I agree with you and the ticket about is https://www.cinelerra-gg.org/bugtracker/view.php?id=73 |

"Finally, if you are using Proxy without scaler and you want drag&drop the clip in Timeline, when Proxy is enabled, you have to drag from Proxy Bin to Timeline, no from Media Bin to Timeline." I would suggest ^^^ to be transparent to the user, because I expect this to be the culprit. |

What is your Format Project (for example 1920x1080)? 1920x1080 And what is your Proxy Scale Factor? 1/3 What is the PNG's size? The proxy image becomes 640x360 on disk (as expected) I can reproduce it with: - create a project 1080p - load a video resource 1080p - drag video to the timeline - enable proxy editing (1/3, auto scale on load) - create a new videotrack - load a png image resource - drag image to the new video track - observe the compositor to be invalid I have created a video, with two variants that work, and the final variant that triggers the bug. https://streamable.com/x66awf |

What is your Format Project (for example 1920x1080)? And what is your Proxy Scale Factor? What is the PNG's size? The Scale factor of the Proxy is based on media size but Cinelerra-gg "think" your media are consistent with the Format Project. So, if your Format Project is 1920x1080, Proxy Scale Factor is 4, and yours JPEG/PNG are 3840x2160, the proxy of your JPEG will be 960x540, not 480x270. Finally, if you are using Proxy without scaler and you want drag&drop the clip in Timeline, when Proxy is enabled, you have to drag from Proxy Bin to Timeline, no from Media Bin to Timeline. |
